Uniting for a Greener Future: St. George’s Leads the Charge at the Climate March

May 16th marked a monumental occasion as St. George’s spearheaded the Climate March – Rising Voices: A Climate Call to Action. With an inspiring turnout of around 1,600 students from St. George’s, The Study, Selwyn House, ECS, and Roslyn our community stood united in advocating for urgent climate action.

Gathering at King George Park, the enthusiasm and determination were palpable as students voiced their concerns directly to politicians and city officials. We were honored to have Mayor of Westmount Christina Smith, Anna Gainey, MP for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount, and Jennifer Maccarone, MNA Westmount-St Louis, listen to our students’ impassioned demands for change.

Students are at the heart of this movement, and their powerful call to action echoed through the streets, igniting a drive for progress towards a greener, more sustainable tomorrow. Thank you to everyone from all the schools involved for amplifying our students’ voices. Special shout out to our own Laura Officer, Julie Kaegi, and Shayna Lavoie for their exceptional efforts. Let’s continue to drive forward together!
